A Blessed Journey in Luzern: A Day of Exploration, Reflection, and Revelation

Yesterday, Paulus and I arrived in Luzern, a city that immediately captivated us with its charm and beauty.

Our journey began with a bus ride to Brunnen/See, where we strolled through the picturesque town while waiting for our cruise to Luzern.

The quaint streets, lined with shops, gave us the perfect opportunity to explore and pick up some Christmas gifts. A quick visit to Coop supermarket added a touch of everyday Swiss life to our adventure.

The cruise ride from Brunnen to Luzern was absolutely amazing. Gliding across the calm, sparkling waters of Lake Lucerne, we were treated to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and quaint villages nestled along the shoreline. The scenery was a perfect blend of serenity and grandeur, making every moment on the boat unforgettable. The crisp alpine air, combined with the gentle rhythm of the waves, felt like a dream come to life.

Thank you Lord!

When we finally reached Luzern, we decided—on a whim—to stay for the night. With Paulus’s platinum status, we managed to book a stay at the Waldstätterhof Swiss Quality Hotel at an incredible 75% discount.

This unplanned stay turned out to be such a blessing. The hotel was lovely, the room exceeded all our expectations, and the spontaneity of the decision made it all the more memorable.

Our evening was filled with exploration. We walked across the iconic Chapel Bridge, a sight so beautiful it felt like stepping into a painting. The Jesuit Church stood gracefully along the Reuss River, a testament to the city’s rich history.

Dinner was a festive delight at the Lucerne Christmas Market on Franziskanerplatz. Cheese Fondue, Grilled sausage, curry sausage, a cup of hot chocolate, and hot mulled wine (called Glühwein in German) warmed us as we soaked in the holiday cheer.

As we wandered through the city streets, we also picked up more Christmas gifts for our family back in Melaka, treasuring the thought of bringing a piece of Luzern back home.

A Vision for Luzern

This morning began with my usual quiet time, reading the Bible. But today was different—extraordinary, even. During my reflection, I had a powerful vision from Jesus.

I saw Christians in Luzern converging on the Chapel Bridge. It was a place of unity, revival, and transformation. A wave of God’s presence was coming to this city, and it would be undeniable. People who gathered here to commune, to work, and to build families will be rooted in faith. Jesus loves cities, and His love for Luzern was evident in this vision.

I saw people repenting and turning to Him, proclaiming the gospel freely and boldly. The Chapel Bridge became a spiritual landmark—a place where the lost would be found, and the found would be strengthened. This was more than a vision; it was a prophecy.

Even if I am far away in Malaysia when this happens, I believe with all my heart that I will hear of the revival and rejoice. I feel honoured that God chose to reveal this to me, allowing me to intercede and declare His plans for this beautiful city.

I am penning this experience not only to remember it but also to affirm my faith in what is to come. Luzern, a city of beauty and history, will soon become a city of His presence ~18/12/2024

Next morning in Luzern started with a brunch treat 🍔 at McDonald’s, where I savoured a bacon burger that I can never find back home in Malaysia—such a delightful start to the morning!

As we strolled through the city, we passed rows of real Christmas trees 🎄 for sale.

It was like stepping into a holiday movie scene—pure festive joy! The scent of pine in the air and the cheerful hustle and bustle made it even more magical.

Our adventure continued with visits to Luzern’s iconic landmarks. First, we stopped at the Lion Monument 🦁,

a breathtaking and emotional tribute carved into a stone cliff. Then, we admired the charm of the Old Swiss House 🏡, with its traditional architecture.

A walk across the Bridge 🌉 offered stunning views of the city and its surrounding beauty.

Next, we climbed up the path to Männli Tower 🏰, one of the old watchtowers guarding the city. The view was worth the effort, and we couldn’t help but pause to soak in the serenity.

We also stepped inside the Jesuit Church ⛪️, where the intricate details and golden altars left us in awe.

After hours of exploring, we made a quick stop at Coop 🛒 to shop for dinner and some essentials for the next few days. Then, we hopped on the train back from Luzern to Brunnen 🚆, followed by bus 504, which brought us back to our apartment at Swiss Holiday Park in Morschach.

To end the day, Paulus prepared baked pork ribs 🐖 for dinner, paired with sides and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon 🍷. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to wrap up our adventure-filled day in Luzern!

Thursday, 19/12/2024: A Day of Rest 🛋️

After our full day of exploration in Luzern, we decided to stay in on Thursday and take a much-needed rest day 🛌. It was the perfect chance to recharge, enjoy the peacefulness of Swiss Holiday Park, and get ready for our next adventure.

The following day, we planned to travel to Zurich city 🚉, where we would spend another couple of days exploring its vibrant streets and festive atmosphere. Once our time in Zurich wraps up, we’ll head back to Melaka 🇲🇾 to reunite with my family and celebrate Christmas 🎅 and the New Year 🎆 countdown together—an exciting way to end the year!

Farewell, Morschach: A Snowy Goodbye ❄️🏔️

Today, Morschach bid us a magical farewell, blanketed in snow ❄️, as if nature itself was marking our departure with a special memory. The serene, snow-covered landscapes 🏞️ made the perfect backdrop for a heartfelt goodbye to this charming town.

Our time in Morschach has been nothing short of unforgettable ✨. From its breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne 🌊 to the crisp Alpine air 🌬️, it offered a rejuvenating escape. The snow today seemed like a poetic gesture—gentle yet profound, leaving us in awe one last time. ❄️❤️

As we pack our bags 🎒 and say goodbye, we carry with us not just memories but also a piece of Morschach’s tranquility 🌿. Our next stop is Zurich 🏙️, where we’ll spend the next two nights exploring the city’s festive charm 🎄✨, and then it’s back to Malaysia 🇲🇾.

The journey continues, but Morschach will forever hold a special place in our hearts 💕. Until next time, snowy wonderland! ❄️.

🎄 A Festive Evening in Zurich: Christmas Markets and a Hot Stone Steak Experience 🥩

After a picturesque stay at the Swiss Holiday Park in Morschach, our journey brought us to the charming city of Zurich. The moment we arrived, we were swept up in the festive atmosphere, with the streets glowing from the beautiful lights of the Christmas markets. 🌟✨ The air was filled with the scent of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and holiday cheer, creating the perfect backdrop for our Zurich adventure. 🎅🍷

We checked into the Bristol Hotel, which provided a cosy base for our exploration. 🏨 Wasting no time, we set out to visit Zurich’s famous “Wienachtsdorf” Christmas market at Sechseläutenplatz. 🎡🎁 This market is not just any market—it’s an enormous holiday village bursting with life, colour, and festive spirit. 🛍️🎶

The stalls offered everything from handcrafted gifts to local delicacies, and the crowds were full of energy, making it impossible not to feel the magic of the season. 🌟

After wandering through the vibrant market, hunger kicked in, and Paulus was in the mood for steak. 🍽️🥩 That’s how we ended up at the Old Town Steakhouse, a fantastic choice for a warm, hearty meal. The restaurant impressed us with its excellent customer service, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. 😊👍

The highlight of the evening was Paulus’s meal: a steak served on a hot stone 🔥🪨, an interactive dining experience where the steak sizzles right at your table.

It’s not just about eating—it’s about the joy of cooking your steak to perfection, bite by bite. 😋 The rich flavours paired beautifully with the sides and the drinks we ordered. 🍺 As for me, the saffron risotto with prawns 🦐🍋 was divine—its creamy texture and vibrant flavour were a perfect complement to the evening.

Zurich truly set the stage for a festive and fulfilling night. 🎉 From the enchanting Christmas markets to the delightful dinner, it was an experience that warmed both our hearts and bellies. ❤️🍴 If you’re visiting Zurich during the holiday season, make sure to stop by the Wienachtsdorf market and treat yourself to a meal at the Old Town Steakhouse—it’s a combination you won’t forget! 🛍️✨

A Cultural Highlight in Zurich: Les Misérables at Hallenstadion 🎭🎶

After soaking in the festive vibes of Zurich’s Christmas markets and enjoying a delicious dinner the previous night, we were ready for one of the most anticipated highlights of our trip—watching Les Misérables at the Hallenstadion! 🌟✨

The excitement was palpable as we arrived at the venue. To prepare for the show, we relaxed at the café nearby, enjoying some refreshments. 🥤☕ It was the perfect way to unwind and build anticipation for the iconic musical. The smile on my face and Paulus holding our tickets says it all—we couldn’t wait! 😊🎟️

Les Misérables has always been a classic for me, but experiencing it in such a grand venue in Switzerland made it even more special. From the timeless songs to the gripping story, it was everything I hoped it would be and more. 🎶✨ Sitting there, immersed in the performance, I couldn’t help but feel that this moment was a memory we’d cherish forever. ❤️

If you’re ever in Zurich and have the chance to catch a show at Hallenstadion, don’t miss it! This was more than just a night out—it was an unforgettable experience that added a touch of magic to our Swiss adventure. 🇨🇭🎭

Our last breakfast in Zurich was a truly special one at the amazing Wüst Bäckerei Konditorei Confiserie.

‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!’ – Psalm 133:1

We’ll cherish these memories forever. ❤️

A Raclette Lunch to Remember 🧀🍷

Raclette isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience! Melted cheese scraped onto your plate, paired with bread, potatoes, and pickles, creates the perfect mix of creamy, salty, and tangy flavours.

The best part? Sharing it with great company. 🍴✨ We raised our glasses, laughed, and savoured every bite. If you haven’t tried raclette yet, make it a must—it’s deliciously unforgettable! 🥖🧀🍷

Goodbye Switzerland 🇨🇭
