A Day of Love, Loss, and Legacy – 24th February 2025

Today marks a day of deep emotions, woven together by love, loss, and legacy. It is our wedding anniversary, a day meant to celebrate love and the promises we made to each other. I still remember standing before so many pastors who blessed us on that sacred day, including our marriage counselor, Ps. Martin, who has since gone home to the Lord. Their prayers and presence marked the beginning of our journey together.

But today, joy and sorrow walk hand in hand. Paulus’s beloved mother has also gone home to be with Jesus. It’s hard to find words that can truly capture this moment – a day meant for celebration now marked by a profound farewell.

Paulus’s relationship with his parents is one of the purest forms of love I have witnessed. From his late father, who left us not long after our marriage, to his mother, who departed today – they were his heart and soul. There is no doubt in my heart that both of them are in a place of peace and rest.

Paulus is one of those rare souls who truly loved his parents with all that he had. I’ve seen firsthand how he cared for them with unwavering devotion. Whether it was comforting his mother, ensuring she felt loved, or simply being there in her times of need , massaging her, taking her on rides– Paulus gave his best. He did all he knew to do, pouring out his love in ways only a son could.

This morning, I watched him sit down with his laptop, his heart heavy but his spirit determined. He began writing about his journey with his mother, wanting to capture every beautiful moment, every cherished memory. In his quiet way, he is grieving – staying calm and holding on to the positive moments they shared. It’s his way of keeping her close, of remembering her love and her life.

Life is so fragile. Today, more than ever, I am reminded of that truth. In this moment, I want to remember this day not just for the pain but for the incredible love that Paulus carries in his heart. If ever I am gone in the future, I want the world to know that Paulus is a man of immense love and kindness. He is a man who gave his heart to his parents, his wife, and everyone he holds dear.

Today, on our anniversary, I honor him – for the husband he is and for the son he has always been.

May his mother rest in peace, and may we carry her legacy forward, wrapped in love and treasured in memory.

A Farewell Wrapped in Faithfulness

This past week, as we gathered to prepare and lay Inak to rest, I was reminded once again of God’s unfailing faithfulness. The skies were clear, the air calm—perfect weather for the solemn occasion. It felt as if heaven itself was granting us a moment of grace.

Everything went smoothly, just as we had prayed for. Surrounded by family, we shared memories, tears, and laughter, all under the gentle embrace of a peaceful day. As the last tribute was made and we gathered for a family photo, the skies waited—patient and gracious.

Then, as if on cue, the heavens opened and rain poured down. It was as if God had held back the storm just long enough for us to bid our goodbyes. A gentle reminder of His timing, His care, and His faithfulness.

In that moment, I felt a surge of gratitude. Not just for the weather, but for the subtle yet powerful way God shows up in our lives. Even in loss, His presence is undeniable.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23

All I can say is this: God is faithful. Even in our most difficult moments, He walks beside us, guiding us through every storm—sometimes holding back the rain just long enough to remind us of His grace.

Rest in peace, Inak. You are loved, and you are missed.
